Why is singhara harvested in repeated rounds instead of all at once?
Because fruit on the same plant ripens over an extended period, not together, and a ripe nut floats free rather than staying put — leaving it too long risks the nut drifting away, being missed, or spoiling. Growers instead work the pond every few days from September into November, picking only what has ripened since the last round.
