VT 1158 is a flue-cured Virginia (FCV) tobacco variety for the Northern Black Soils of the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana FCV belt. It is medium-to-late in duration and is grown for a good cured-leaf yield with body under the rainfed black-soil system, where the crop draws on stored moisture. It has no special disease resistance.
