ICGV 91114 — sold in Odisha under the name ‘Devi’ — is an early-maturing, drought-tolerant Spanish-bunch groundnut bred at ICRISAT from the cross ICGV 86055 × ICGV 86533 using the bulk-pedigree method. It was identified through farmer participatory varietal selection in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh, released for cultivation in 2006, and later notified and popularised in Odisha’s drought-prone western districts from 2007. In documented on-farm trials it held pod yield through a mid-season dry spell better than the older check variety TMV-2 — the single biggest risk on rainfed groundnut land.
