About this variety

CSH 30 (breeding code SPH 1655) is a single-cross kharif grain hybrid released in 2012 through the All India Coordinated Research Project on Sorghum, developed at the Directorate of Sorghum Research (DSR), Hyderabad — the institute later renamed ICAR-IIMR in 2014. Its female parent, 415A, was itself bred using a grain-mould-resistant genetic stock (IS 25017), and its male parent, CB 33, carries a grain-mould-tolerant line (GMRP 13) — giving the hybrid a grain-mould-tolerance-focused breeding background. AICRP trial data record it as resistant to lodging and non-shattering.
