About this variety

China is a mid-to-late-season litchi variety commonly grown alongside Shahi in Bihar's Muzaffarpur belt. It does not carry Shahi's GI status or its distinctive aroma, but it ripens a little later, which lets orchards planting both varieties extend the harvest window and spread labour, market delivery and price risk beyond the narrower Shahi-only season.
