Punjab Safed-4

Punjab Safed-4 is an Asiatic (desi) turnip variety released by Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, and recommended specifically for Punjab and Haryana growing conditions. Its roots are pure white, round and medium-sized with a mild, non-pungent taste, making it a straightforward everyday cooking variety for the region's markets. As a PAU-bred Asiatic type it fits the standard north-western plains sowing calendar, and being open-pollinated allows seed to be saved from a true-to-type root where a grower wants to.
