Overview
Kerala imports a large share of its milk from neighbouring states, so Ksheerasagaram is built to make local dairying more attractive by topping up the price a farmer already gets from the cooperative when milk is supplied through the Milma network.
There is no minimum number of animals required to join, which matters because most Kerala dairy holdings are small — often just one or two cows kept alongside other farm or non-farm work.
The incentive itself has been set at ₹4 a litre, effective from 1 August 2022, backed by a budget of ₹29.57 crore for that phase — on top of, not instead of, the price the cooperative society already pays. Register as a member of a Milma-linked dairy cooperative society in your area.

Deliver milk regularly through the cooperative's collection system to be counted for the incentive.

The per-litre incentive is added to the regular cooperative payment, credited on the usual payment cycle.
