CSAUAT's own variety records give a 1997 release/development year, notified for general cultivation on 15 May 1998 (S.O. 401(E)) for the rainfed North Eastern Plains Zone — eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal. CSAUAT's own records report an average yield of 30–32 q/ha, a maturity of 115–120 days, and resistance to rust and blight.
