About this variety

Kashi Anmol is an open-pollinated chilli released by ICAR-IIVR, Varanasi, notified via Gazette Notification S.O. 597(E) dated 25 April 2006, per corroborated secondary sources. It is an improved population derived from two cycles of simple recurrent selection out of a Sri Lankan introduction (IC-523656). Plants are determinate and dwarf (60-70 cm) with nodal pigmentation on the stem, bearing green, attractive, pendant fruit. First picking begins 55 days after transplanting, with a reported yield of 200 q/ha in trials and up to 250 q/ha (green) at farmers' fields within a 120-day crop duration.
