About this variety

Pant Sudarshan is a karonda pickle-type variety released alongside Pant Manohar and Pant Suvarna by GBPUAT Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, part of the same breeding effort to give pickle and chutney processors a consistent, high-acidity, low-TSS green-fruit variety rather than relying on unselected wild karonda. As with its two companion releases, it is grown and harvested specifically at the unripe green stage, not left to ripen for fresh eating, and its main value to a grower is the predictability it offers a pickle buyer compared to fruit gathered from ungraded wild or seedling bushes.
