About this variety
Allison is an early-to-mid-season female kiwi that is often the top yielder in Indian hill trials, prized for heavy, reliable cropping and good fruit size. It performs well on slightly lower, warmer kiwi sites than Hayward needs, which makes it a mainstay of Himachal, Uttarakhand and north-east plantings. Its fruit does not store quite as long as Hayward's, so it is well suited to the fresh market and earlier marketing. Like all female varieties it needs a compatible male pollinator flowering with it for good fruit set.
