About this variety
ASD de Costa Rica is one of the world's long-established oil-palm breeders, and its imported sprouted tenera (Dura ├Ч Pisifera) seed is a major source of planting material for Indian plantations under the oil-palm programme. Growers and company nurseries choose it for internationally proven high-oil crosses and dependable germination. In practice an Indian farmer receives a nursery seedling raised from this imported seed rather than handling the seed directly; the agronomy, spacing and management are identical to any other tenera.
