DRSH-1 is a single-cross sunflower hybrid (ARM-243A × 6D-1) bred by the Directorate of Oilseeds Research (now ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research), Hyderabad, and released in 2005 with a recommendation covering sunflower-growing areas nationally — a broader footprint than this record's three listed states. Independent field trials in northern Karnataka recorded it as a notably tall hybrid, around 177.5 cm, among the hybrids compared.
