Overview
Chhattisgarh procures paddy at MSP like every other state, then pays the grower a second amount — input assistance — to bridge the gap up to the price the state has announced. In KMS 2023–24 that gap was ₹917 per quintal: MSP for common grade was ₹2,183 and the announced price was ₹3,100.
The rate is not fixed. It is recalculated each Kharif Marketing Season, because MSP moves every year while the announced price is a policy decision. The announced price has held at ₹3,100 a quintal — in KMS 2025–26 the state procured 141.04 lakh tonnes from over 25.24 lakh farmers at that effective rate. Two limits matter when you plan: purchase is capped at 21 quintals per acre, and any per-quintal gap figure belongs to a specific KMS, so check the current year’s notification before budgeting on it.
What you get
The benefit as the state notifies it — nothing here is an estimate.
- Input assistance per quintal on top of the MSP already received at the procurement centre.
- Paid by DBT into the account linked to your procurement registration — no separate claim to file.
- Applies to the quantity actually sold at a registered centre, so the record is automatic.
- Released as a single transfer after the season’s procurement closes.
Who is eligible
State schemes usually state their criteria as prose rather than a checklist. This is that prose, unpacked — the department’s verification is what decides.
You qualify if
- Farmer registered on the state’s paddy procurement system
- Land recorded in the state land records and linked to the registration
- Paddy actually sold at a registered procurement centre during the marketing season
- Bank account linked to the procurement registration
Not covered
- Paddy sold outside the state procurement system — a private trader sale leaves no record to pay against
- Registrations where the land record could not be verified
Documents you need
Have these ready before you start — most rejections are a missing paper, not a missing right.
- Procurement registration (girdawari) record
- Aadhaar card
- Land record — B-1 / khasra
- Bank passbook linked to the registration
How to apply
Fewer steps than a central scheme, and usually one office rather than a portal.
- 1
Register before the season
Registration and girdawari verification happen before procurement opens. Miss this window and there is nothing to pay against later.
- 2
Sell at a registered procurement centre
Only quantities recorded at a state centre count. Keep the token and receipt until the assistance is credited.
- 3
Wait for the post-season transfer
Input assistance is released together for the whole season, not per sale. It arrives in the account linked to the registration.
Frequently asked questions
Is ₹917 per quintal the current rate?
That was the KMS 2023–24 rate, the gap between the ₹2,183 MSP for common paddy and the ₹3,100 announced price. The gap is recomputed each season as MSP changes — check the current notification.
I sold to a private trader. Do I still get it?
No. The assistance is calculated from the quantity recorded at a state procurement centre. A private sale leaves no record for the calculation.
Do I need to apply for the input assistance?
No. It follows from your procurement registration and the quantity sold. What you do need to get right is the registration and the girdawari before the season.
