CRHG-19 is ICAR-CRIDA Hyderabad's 2014 horse gram release, also derived from the "K-42" parent line used for the earlier CRIDA-18R. It carries a brown seed coat, tolerance to pod shattering, and a reported crude protein content of 28.3% — a nutritionally relevant figure for a crop that is genuinely eaten as human food across South India. Multi-location trials recorded a seed yield of roughly 760-1,300 kg/ha, about 20% above the best local check, alongside documented tolerance to powdery mildew, anthracnose and whiteflies (the insect that also vectors horsegram yellow mosaic virus, so whitefly tolerance carries an indirect disease-management benefit as well). It has since been used as a reference/check genotype in later ICAR-NBPGR germplasm studies, cross-corroborating its real, documented status.
