Goma Priyanka is a jamun variety released by ICAR's Central Horticultural Experiment Station (CHES), Godhra, in Gujarat. In a published comparative study evaluating it alongside Konkan Bahadoli and CISH cultivars for sodicity tolerance and productivity, Goma Priyanka recorded significantly higher fruit weight, pulp weight and yield per tree than Konkan Bahadoli, along with relatively better tolerance to sodicity stress — a genuinely useful combination for growers on the mildly sodic or saline soils common in parts of Gujarat and neighbouring Maharashtra, where fruit size and yield matter as much as the tree's ability to tolerate imperfect soil.
