RMt-143

RMt-143 was developed at SKN College of Agriculture (Rajasthan Agricultural University), Jobner, through pure-line selection sourced from the Jodhpur region, and was identified for release in 1997. It is particularly recommended for the Bhilwara, Jhalawar and Jodhpur districts of Rajasthan, with a reported average yield of 16.0 q/ha — somewhat higher than its sibling release RMt-1's 14.7 q/ha. Specific disease-resistance traits were not confirmed for RMt-143 in this research pass, so on a field with a known root rot or mildew history, RMt-1 or Hisar Suvarna remain the better-documented choices; RMt-143's advantage is district-specific yield performance in its recommended belt.
