Hisar Suvarna

Hisar Suvarna was developed by CCS Haryana Agricultural University through pure-line selection from local germplasm, and is recommended as a dual-purpose variety suited to Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat. Its standout feature among the fenugreek varieties covered here is disease resistance breadth: it is resistant to powdery mildew and moderately resistant to downy mildew as well, a combination not documented for most other named varieties, which typically carry at most one of these traits or neither. For a grower on a field where either mildew has been a recurring problem, Hisar Suvarna is a strong first choice — root rot resistance is not documented for it, so on a field with a root rot history, pairing variety choice with the standard seed-rate and irrigation precautions still matters.
