About this variety
Gruss an Teplitz is an old, deep-crimson, strongly fragrant garden rose (a historic China/Bourbon-type rose) that became the traditional workhorse scented loose-flower variety across much of India. Grown for garlands, worship and essential-oil extraction, it remains widely planted as a hardy, free-flowering local favourite. It is one of the classic "local scented roses" that make up a large share of the open-field loose-flower area in several states.
