Overview

A defaulted crop loan does more than sit on a balance sheet: it locks the farmer out of fresh credit, so the next season is financed by the moneylender instead of the bank. JKRMY breaks that loop by clearing the outstanding standard crop loan, up to ₹2 lakh, in one go. The ceiling was raised from an earlier ₹50,000.

The eligibility line is a date: the loan must have been taken by 31 March 2020, which fixes the scheme to existing debt rather than new borrowing. Enrolment is completed with a token payment of one rupee — the small step that confirms the beneficiary and closes the account. It applies to one loan account per farmer.

What you get

The benefit as the state notifies it — nothing here is an estimate.

  • The outstanding standard crop loan cleared, up to ₹2 lakh, in a single waiver.
  • Restores eligibility for fresh crop credit, so the next season is financed by a bank, not a moneylender.
  • A ceiling raised from the earlier ₹50,000, covering far more of a typical outstanding balance.
  • Enrolment closed with a one-rupee token payment — no large repayment to make.

Who is eligible

State schemes usually state their criteria as prose rather than a checklist. This is that prose, unpacked — the department’s verification is what decides.

You qualify if

  • Resident of Jharkhand, aged 18 or above
  • Holder of a standard crop loan (KCC) from an eligible bank
  • Loan taken on or before 31 March 2020
  • Ration card and a valid Aadhaar linked to the loan account

Not covered

  • Loans taken after 31 March 2020
  • More than one loan account per farmer
  • Wilful defaulters and accounts classified outside the standard category

Documents you need

Have these ready before you start — most rejections are a missing paper, not a missing right.

  • Aadhaar card
  • Ration card
  • KCC / crop loan account details
  • Mobile number linked for the portal

How to apply

Fewer steps than a central scheme, and usually one office rather than a portal.

  1. 1

    Apply on the JKRMY portal

Registration and application both run through jkrmy.jharkhand.gov.in against your crop-loan account number.

  2. 2

    Verification against the bank record

The outstanding amount and the loan date are verified against the bank’s records to confirm the account falls within the scheme.

  3. 3

Pay ₹1 and the loan is waived

The token payment of one rupee completes enrolment. The eligible outstanding, up to ₹2 lakh, is then cleared.

Frequently asked questions

My loan is from 2022. Is it covered?

No. The scheme covers standard crop loans taken on or before 31 March 2020. A loan taken after that date is outside it.

Why is there a one-rupee payment?

It is a token that confirms the beneficiary and formally closes the loan account. It is not a repayment of the loan.

I have two loan accounts. Are both waived?

No. The waiver applies to one crop-loan account per farmer, within the ₹2 lakh ceiling.
