Overview
Yeshasvini is a health care scheme of the Karnataka Government for members of cooperative societies — farmers, cooperative fishermen, beedi workers and weavers among them. It was first launched in June 2003 as a first-of-its-kind public-private partnership health scheme for rural cooperative members, so that families would not have to turn to moneylenders or sell assets to pay for major surgery. It was extended to urban cooperatives from 2014-15.
The scheme ran from 2003-04 to 2016-17 through the Department of Co-operation. From 1 June 2018 it was transferred to the Health and Family Welfare Department and was then stopped. After persistent demand from cooperators and farmers, the government re-introduced a revised Yeshasvini, announced in the State Budget 2022-23. A new Yeshasvini Co-operative Members Health Care Trust was set up to run it, with the Chief Minister as Chief Patron.
Members can use 1,650 notified treatment procedures and 478 ICU procedures — 2,128 in all — the same as covered under the Ayushman Bharat Arogya Karnataka scheme, in network hospitals across the state. Treatment is in the general ward. The cover includes medicines, surgeon and anaesthetist fees, operation theatre rent, bed and nursing charges, and implants that are part of the package, such as a knee implant or a cataract lens.
A member joins by paying a prescribed yearly contribution. The Trust's eligibility page lists ₹500 a year for a rural cooperative family of four (₹100 more for each extra member) and ₹1,000 for urban societies (₹200 more per extra member). That page labels these rates for 2022-23, so confirm the current-year amount with your society before paying. SC and ST members pay nothing.

If something goes wrong
Missing from the list, or payment stuck — here is the channel the department itself publishes for it.
- First, the Yeshasvini Co-operative Members Health Care Trust, KMC Building, 2nd Floor, K.R. Road, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru — or the Yeshasvini district coordinator listed on yeshasvinitrust.in.
- For escalation, use Karnataka's Janaspandana grievance system: ipgrs.karnataka.gov.in or call 1902.

How much does it cost every year?
The Trust lists ₹500 for a rural family of four and ₹1,000 for an urban family of four, with ₹100 or ₹200 for each extra member. These are the 2022-23 rates on the Trust's page, so confirm the current figure with your society.
Are SC and ST members charged?
No. SC and ST members pay no membership fee.

2,128 procedures — 1,650 treatments and 478 ICU procedures — mainly cardiac, ENT, intestinal, nerve, eye, bone, and women-related conditions, in network hospitals.
Can I take a private room?
Treatment is in the general ward. If you choose a 2–3 bed room you pay 15% extra, and for a private single room 25% extra.
Why is it different from the old Yeshasvini?
The original scheme (2003) was stopped after 2016-17 and was re-introduced in a revised form announced in the 2022-23 Budget. The current Trust site lists 2,128 procedures, not the 823 of the early years.
Am I eligible if I already have health insurance?
No. People who are members of any insurance scheme are not eligible, according to the Trust.
