It was officially notified on 5 October 2007 (S.O. 1703(E)) and, unusually for a guar variety, is recommended for the entire guar-growing area of the country rather than a specific state or zone. It is an unbranched, early-maturing type, which makes it well suited to inter-cropping and mixed-cropping systems where guar is grown alongside another crop rather than as a sole stand.
