About this variety
Pusa Basanti Gainda is the yellow companion to Pusa Narangi in ICAR-IARI's African marigold releases тАФ bright-yellow, fully double flowers on a tall, productive plant, grown for the large share of the garland and festival trade that specifically wants yellow flowers (yellow and orange marigold are often used together in garlands and decoration). It shares Pusa Narangi's agronomy: nursery-raised and transplanted, strongly responsive to pinching, and best timed so flowering lands in a festival window. Many growers plant both the orange and yellow varieties together to supply both colours from one planting.
