About this variety
Pusa Narangi Gainda is a classic African marigold (Tagetes erecta) developed by ICAR-IARI, New Delhi, with large, deep-orange, fully double, ruffled flowers carried on a tall, vigorous, high-yielding plant. It flowers about 125тАУ135 days from sowing and is one of the most widely grown commercial loose-flower marigolds across the northern plains, going into garlands, festival decoration and the religious-offering trade. Grown from a nursery and transplanted, it responds strongly to pinching about two weeks after transplanting, which multiplies its flowering branches, and to festival-timed planting so flowering lands in the DussehraтАУDiwali window.
