About this variety
W-22 is one of the numbered WIMCO Populus deltoides clones (the "W" series) that established the north-Indian farm-poplar industry from the 1980s onward. Alongside newer selections like G-48, Uday and Bahar, it is still supplied by WIMCO-linked and other reputed nurseries and planted under buy-back agreements for the plywood, matchbox and packing-wood industries. Planted as bare-root ETPs in January–February on a 5–6 year rotation.
