About this variety

CO-3 is a sapota hybrid released by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, crossing Cricket Ball with the local Vavivalasa variety. The cross combines Cricket Ball's hardier, transport-friendly traits with much higher sweetness than either parent — its fruit reaches about 24.2°Brix total soluble solids, putting it among the sweetest named sapota varieties commercially available in India. Fruit shape is oblong-ovate with a pleasant, well-balanced flavour that has made it a favoured choice in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh for growers targeting the premium table market.
