Overview
Bhavantar Bharpai is a price-deficiency scheme for horticulture, not a procurement scheme. The state notifies a protected price per crop, based on cost of production. If you sell in a mandi below that price, the gap is transferred to your account — nobody buys your produce, and nothing is stored.
It covers around 21 horticultural crops: a handful of fruits, a long list of vegetables and two spice crops. The critical detail is that registration on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal has to happen before the crop is sold — the scheme has no way to compensate a sale it has no record of.

- Sales with no mandi record — the shortfall cannot be computed without the sale price

Register the crop before you sow or sell
Enter the crop and area on fasal.haryana.gov.in within the registration window. Everything downstream depends on this record existing.

Let the department verify the area
Horticulture Department staff verify the sown area against the registration. A mismatch caps what can be claimed.

Sell in a notified mandi and keep the J-form
The mandi sale price is what the shortfall is calculated against. Without a J-form there is no verified price.

Does the government buy my crop under this scheme?
No. You sell it yourself in the mandi. The state only pays the difference if the price you got was below the protected price notified for that crop.
