Overview
Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi is Maharashtra's matching top-up to PM-KISAN. It was announced in the 2023-24 state budget by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and the first instalment was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Shirdi on 26 October 2023. The state pays ₹6,000 a year in three instalments of ₹2,000, on the same rhythm as the central instalments.
Eligibility is deliberately identical to PM-KISAN, and the beneficiary list is taken from it, so there is no second form to fill. In practice the state instalment usually lands within days of the central one — if it does not, the problem is nearly always on the PM-KISAN record itself.
The scheme now reaches about 91.65 lakh farmer families — the 7th instalment, ₹1,892.61 crore, was paid on 9 September 2025 for the April–July 2025 period. The 2023-24 budget set aside ₹6,900 crore for it.
In the February 2025 state budget the government announced a plan to raise the state share from ₹6,000 to ₹9,000 a year — which would take the PM-KISAN + state total to ₹15,000. That increase had not yet taken effect: instalments through 2025 were still at the ₹2,000 rate.

Missing from the list, or payment stuck — here is the channel the department itself publishes for it.
- Because the beneficiary list is the PM-KISAN list, most stalled state instalments are fixed by correcting the PM-KISAN record — e-KYC, Aadhaar seeding, and the 7/12 / 8-A land entry through the talathi and taluka agriculture office.

Frequently asked questions
Do the two ₹6,000 payments arrive together?
Usually within days of each other, but they are released separately. A delay in one does not mean the other is blocked.
I have land but no PM-KISAN registration. Do I get this?
No. The state list is the PM-KISAN list. Register for PM-KISAN first and the state instalment follows automatically.
Is the state amount now ₹9,000?
Not yet. The February 2025 state budget announced a plan to raise the state share from ₹6,000 to ₹9,000 a year, but instalments through 2025 were still paid at ₹2,000 each (₹6,000 a year). Check the NSMNY portal for the current rate.
When did the scheme start and how many farmers does it reach?
The first instalment was released by PM Modi at Shirdi on 26 October 2023. By the 7th instalment on 9 September 2025 it covered about 91.65 lakh farmer families.
Does this replace crop insurance or loan waivers?
No — it is unconditional income support and sits alongside them. It has nothing to do with any crop-loss claim you may have filed.
My PM-KISAN came but the state ₹2,000 did not. Why?
The state pays against the same list a little after the centre. If it is more than a few weeks late, check your PM-KISAN e-KYC, Aadhaar-bank seeding and the 7/12 land entry — a mismatch there is the usual cause.
