Overview

The Mukhyamantri Pak Sangrah Structure Yojana is a 100% state-funded Gujarat government scheme that provides financial assistance to farmers for constructing a crop storage godown on their own farm. It prevents post-harvest losses from rain, moisture, theft and wildlife damage by giving farmers a secure place to store their produce until they get a fair market price.

The subsidy was recently increased from ₹1 lakh to ₹2 lakh per beneficiary (or 50% of construction cost, whichever is lower), and the maximum storage structure size was doubled from 300 to 600 square feet. For structures between 300–600 sq ft, the subsidy is calculated pro-rata at a fixed rate per square foot. The state government approved ₹154.36 crore for the scheme in the 2026-27 financial year.

This is one of the most popular farm-infrastructure schemes in Gujarat — it gives small and marginal farmers a real alternative to distress selling at harvest time. With their own storage, farmers can wait for better prices, negotiate from a position of strength, and reduce the 5–10% post-harvest loss that open-field storage causes.

What you get

The benefit as the state notifies it — nothing here is an estimate.

  • Up to ₹2 lakh subsidy (or 50% of construction cost, whichever is lower) for building a crop storage structure.
  • Structure up to 600 sq ft — enough to store several months' produce for a small or marginal farmer.
  • Protects stored crops from seasonal rain, moisture, pests, theft and wildlife damage.
  • Farmers can sell at a better price instead of dumping produce at harvest when rates are lowest.
  • Pro-rata subsidy for structures between 300–600 sq ft at a fixed rate per square foot.
  • 100% state-funded — no central share required, faster disbursement.

Who is eligible

State schemes usually state their criteria as prose rather than a checklist. This is that prose, unpacked — the department’s verification is what decides.

You qualify if

  • Farmer in Gujarat with agricultural land in their name
  • The storage structure must be built on the farmer's own agricultural land
  • One structure per farmer (one-time benefit)
  • The structure must be used exclusively for crop storage

Not covered

  • Farmers who have already received this subsidy for the same landholding
  • Structures built for non-agricultural purposes
  • Land not in the applicant's name

Documents you need

Have these ready before you start — most rejections are a missing paper, not a missing right.

  • Aadhaar card
  • 7/12 land record extract (in applicant's name)
  • Bank account passbook (for DBT)
  • Passport-size photograph

How to apply

Fewer steps than a central scheme, and usually one office rather than a portal.

  1. 1

    Apply online on iKhedut portal

Visit ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in, register and apply under the Mukhyamantri Pak Sangrah Structure Yojana. Fill in land details and upload documents.

  2. 2

    Application review and approval

The district agriculture officer reviews the application, verifies land records and approves eligible applications.

  3. 3

    Construct the storage structure

Build the godown on your agricultural land as per approved specifications (up to 600 sq ft). Keep construction receipts.

  4. 4

    Inspection and subsidy release

The agriculture department inspects the completed structure. Once verified, the subsidy (up to ₹2 lakh or 50% of cost) is transferred to your bank account via DBT.

If something goes wrong

Missing from the list, or payment stuck — here is the channel the department itself publishes for it.

  • For application status, rejection or payment delays, contact the district Agriculture Officer or the taluka-level Khedut Sahay Kendra.
  • For escalation, use the Gujarat SWAGAT portal at swagat.gujarat.gov.in — grievances are heard through the district collector's office with monthly CM-level hearings.

Frequently asked questions

How much subsidy does a farmer get?

Up to ₹2 lakh or 50% of the construction cost, whichever is lower. For structures between 300–600 sq ft, the subsidy is calculated pro-rata.

What is the maximum storage size allowed?

600 square feet. This was recently doubled from the earlier limit of 300 sq ft.

Where do I apply?

Online at ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in — Gujarat's farmer portal. Register, select the scheme and submit your application with land documents.

Can I build a smaller structure?

Yes. Structures between 300–600 sq ft qualify. The subsidy is calculated at a fixed rate per square foot on a proportional basis.

Is this a central or state scheme?

100% state-funded by Gujarat. No central share is involved, which typically means faster processing.

Can I use it for anything other than crop storage?

No. The structure must be used exclusively for storing agricultural produce. Using it for other purposes makes you ineligible.
