Overview

Gujarat's Tractor Sahay Yojana, coded AGR-50, helps farmers buy a tractor by paying part of the cost. It began in 2011-12 with an allocation of ₹55 crore, and is paid from the state's own funds. It is applied for on the iKhedut portal along with other farm schemes.

In February 2026 Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani said the 2026-27 budget provides ₹800 crore for tractor subsidies, the highest so far, and that the maximum assistance per tractor has been raised to ₹1 lakh (OMMCOM / IANS). Gujarat is described as the first state to set aside such a large amount just for the tractor component.

Reports state the support as 25% of the tractor's cost or ₹1 lakh, whichever is less (IANS, September 2025). Over the previous five years, more than 2 lakh farmers received tractor assistance, according to the minister.

For 2026-27 the iKhedut portal accepted applications from 27 March to 26 April 2026 for 148 components, including tractors (IANS). The minister said applications would be processed on a rolling basis, with eligible farmers paid after verification rather than waiting for the deadline. The window has closed for this year, so the next one is the next opportunity — watch iKhedut for the date.

What you get

The benefit as the state notifies it — nothing here is an estimate.

  • Up to ₹1 lakh per tractor — 25% of the cost, whichever is lower.
  • State-funded; a record ₹800 crore is provided for 2026-27.
  • One online application on the iKhedut portal, alongside other farm-machinery schemes.
  • Applications are processed on a rolling basis, so early applicants are not left waiting for the deadline.

Who is eligible

State schemes usually state their criteria as prose rather than a checklist. This is that prose, unpacked — the department’s verification is what decides.

You qualify if

  • Farmer in Gujarat registered on the iKhedut portal and owning agricultural land
  • Buying a tractor under the scheme's rules; the exact rate depends on the farmer's category and tractor size
  • Final conditions — such as how often a farmer can claim and which tractor models qualify — are in the department's order for the year; read it on iKhedut before buying

Documents you need

Have these ready before you start — most rejections are a missing paper, not a missing right.

  • Aadhaar card
  • 7/12 and 8-A land records
  • Bank account details
  • Caste certificate (if applying under SC/ST)
  • Tractor quotation or invoice from a dealer

How to apply

Fewer steps than a central scheme, and usually one office rather than a portal.

  1. 1

    Register on iKhedut

Register yourself on ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in with Aadhaar authentication, or apply through your gram panchayat.

  2. 2

    Apply when the window opens

The 2026-27 window was 27 March to 26 April 2026. Pick the tractor component under agriculture and submit the form with your documents.

  3. 3

    Wait for approval before buying

Do not buy the tractor before the approval or order shown on your application. The rules on pre-approval can change by year.

  4. 4

Buy, submit the bill and claim the assistance

After approval, buy the tractor as the order allows and upload the invoice. The assistance is paid after verification, through DBT.

If something goes wrong

Missing from the list, or payment stuck — here is the channel the department itself publishes for it.

  • First, the District Agriculture Officer (DAO) of your district, or the iKhedut helpdesk on the portal.
  • For escalation, use SWAGAT: swagat.gujarat.gov.in, through the Collector's office.
