Overview
Gujarat’s storage scheme exists because of a specific loss pattern: harvest arrives, unseasonal rain or a cyclone follows, and produce sitting in the open is either damaged or dumped on the market at whatever price is going. An on-farm structure removes the urgency from the sale.
The scheme pays 50% of the cost of building a storage godown on your own land, up to a ceiling the state notifies and has revised upward more than once — reported figures range from ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh depending on the year, so read the current i-Khedut notification as the authority rather than any number quoted second-hand. The structure has to meet a minimum size of about 330 square feet. Applications run on i-Khedut in defined windows rather than all year, and construction has to follow the sanction — not precede it.

- Construction begun only after the sanction order is issued

Apply on i-Khedut in the open window
The portal opens applications for defined periods. Applying outside a window is the commonest wasted trip.

Wait for the sanction order
Build only after sanction. A structure completed before the order does not qualify, whatever its quality.

Build, get it verified, receive the assistance
The department inspects the completed godown against the sanctioned specification, then releases the assistance to your account.
Frequently asked questions
Can I build the godown first and claim later?
No. Construction has to follow the sanction order. Assistance is not paid for a structure built before sanction.
When can I apply?
Only when i-Khedut has an open application window for the scheme. The windows are notified by the department and are not open all year.
How much money will I actually get?
