Overview
A big chunk of post-harvest loss happens simply in transport — perishables bruised in an overloaded two-wheeler trip or delayed because no vehicle was available at harvest time. Kisan Parivahan Yojana subsidises the purchase of a proper light-medium goods vehicle (600 kg to 1,500 kg load capacity) dedicated to carrying farm produce.
General-category farmers get 40% of the vehicle cost as subsidy, capped at ₹60,000; SC/ST farmers and women farmers get a higher 50% rate, capped at ₹75,000. The vehicle must be tested and certified by a Central-government-recognised testing institution before the subsidy is released, and a beneficiary cannot sell the vehicle within two years of buying it. The subsidy can be claimed only once every seven years per beneficiary — a separate, smaller component of the same scheme funds a tractor-trailer purchase instead, at 20% of cost or ₹30,000, whichever is lower. The application window opens each year on the i-Khedut portal — which now hosts around 148 schemes across agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry — alongside Gujarat's other input-subsidy schemes.

Submit the application with land and identity details on ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in when the scheme window is open.

After sanction, purchase the vehicle from an approved dealer and submit the invoice for subsidy processing.
