Punjab Green is a spinach-beet (palak) variety released by Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, with erect, dark bluish-green, thick leaves and a low tendency to develop the coarse, fibrous mid-rib that lowers the eating quality of some other varieties. It gives steady, repeated flushes through the Punjab winter and is sold alongside the closely related Punjab Selection.
