Overview
Buying farm machinery outright is a stretch for most families, and Rajasthan runs a standing subsidy for it through the Raj Kisan Sathi portal. A general-category farmer gets 40% of the machine cost back; an SC/ST, woman, small or marginal farmer gets 50%. The exact rupee cap depends on the implement and its horsepower rating, fixed by the department each year.
The scheme is deliberately spread thin rather than concentrated: a farmer can claim subsidy on a given type of equipment only once in three years under any department scheme, and on at most three different equipment types in one financial year. That rule exists so the same handful of farmers do not corner every draw while others wait.
Payment comes as a direct bank transfer, not a discount at the shop. The machine has to be bought from an authorised dealer, registered manufacturer or cooperative society within Rajasthan; the farmer buys it after sanction, an Agriculture Supervisor or Assistant Agriculture Officer verifies it on the field with the bill, and the subsidy is released against that verification.
Where applications for a component run above the year's target, the beneficiaries are picked by a random draw on the portal. In recent years the department has also required applicants to hold a Soil Health Card, so get one made before you apply.

Who is eligible
State schemes usually state their criteria as prose rather than a checklist. This is that prose, unpacked — the department’s verification is what decides.
You qualify if
- Farmer with agricultural land in Rajasthan, in own name or recorded in the Jamabandi
- Tractor registered in the applicant's own name, for tractor-operated implements
- No subsidy already claimed on the same equipment type under any department scheme in the preceding three years
- Caste or category certificate to claim the 50% rate
- Soil Health Card, where the department requires it for the year
- Machine bought from an authorised dealer / registered manufacturer / cooperative society in Rajasthan
Not covered
- Machinery purchased before sanction and without prior approval
- A fourth or later equipment type claimed in the same financial year
- Repeat claim on the same equipment type within three years

Wait for selection, then buy after sanction
If the component is oversubscribed, beneficiaries are drawn at random. Once sanctioned, buy the implement from an authorised dealer in Rajasthan.

Field verification with the bill
An Agriculture Supervisor or Assistant Agriculture Officer physically verifies the machine on your field against the purchase bill.

Subsidy transferred to your bank account
After verification, the subsidy amount is credited directly to your registered bank account.
If something goes wrong
Missing from the list, or payment stuck — here is the channel the department itself publishes for it.
- For an application stuck after the draw, a verification not done, or a subsidy not credited, take it up with the Agriculture Supervisor and the Assistant Director of Agriculture for your area, then the Joint Director (Agriculture) at the district. Keep the Raj Kisan Sathi application number, the sanction letter and the purchase bill. The department also runs a helpline — 0141-2927047 / 0141-2922613.

Frequently asked questions
Can I claim subsidy on more than one machine?
Yes, up to three different equipment types in one financial year — but not the same equipment type twice within three years, under any department scheme.
Does applying guarantee I get the subsidy?
No. If more farmers apply for a machine than the year's target, the beneficiaries are chosen by a random draw on the portal. If you are not picked, apply again next year.
Can I buy the machine from any shop?
No. It must be from an authorised dealer, registered manufacturer or cooperative society in Rajasthan. A bill from an unapproved seller will not be accepted at verification.
Do I need to own a tractor to claim subsidy on a rotavator or thresher?
Yes, for tractor-operated implements the tractor must be registered in your own name — you cannot claim on a borrowed or family member's tractor.
Can I buy the machine first and claim later?
No. The purchase has to be verified against a sanctioned application. Buy first and there is nothing to verify the subsidy against.
