Overview

Milk is a daily income for lakhs of Rajasthan families. When a farmer sells milk to a cooperative dairy, the dairy pays for the milk. On top of that, this scheme adds ₹5 for every litre sold, paid by the state. The Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister described it in October 2024 as a double benefit: the price of the milk from the dairy federation, and ₹5 a litre from the state.

The money is large. The 2024-25 budget set aside ₹600 crore for the scheme. The Rajasthan Budget 2026-27 lists it by name with a subsidy of ₹700 crore, for about 5 lakh livestock farmers. That is how we know it is still running in the current year. In October 2024, before Diwali, the state moved ₹92.41 crore by direct bank transfer to about 3.25 lakh livestock keepers, according to the minister.

The subsidy is worked out from the milk you sell through the cooperative network and reaches your bank account by direct benefit transfer. The state has also set other dairy goals in the 2026-27 budget: 1,000 new milk collection centres in villages, a 3 lakh litre a day milk plant in Alwar, and training for 1 lakh livestock farmers to make value-added milk products. More collection centres mean more farmers can reach a cooperative buyer.

This page covers only what the state has published. The exact registration steps and payment dates can change, so ask your dairy society or the Animal Husbandry office in your district before you count on a date.

What you get

The benefit as the state notifies it — nothing here is an estimate.

  • ₹5 extra for every litre of milk you sell through the cooperative dairy network.
  • The money is paid by direct transfer to your bank account.
  • It comes on top of the price the dairy pays you, so it raises the real price of your milk.

Who is eligible

State schemes usually state their criteria as prose rather than a checklist. This is that prose, unpacked — the department’s verification is what decides.

You qualify if

  • A milk producer in Rajasthan who sells milk to a cooperative dairy society or collection centre in the state dairy federation network.
  • A bank account in your own name, to receive the direct transfer.
  • Milk sold to private buyers outside the cooperative network does not count.

Not covered

  • Milk sold to buyers outside the cooperative dairy network.

Documents you need

Have these ready before you start — most rejections are a missing paper, not a missing right.

  • Aadhaar card
  • Bank passbook in your name
  • Membership or record of your dairy cooperative society
  • Any other paper your society or the Animal Husbandry office asks for — ask for its full list

How to apply

Fewer steps than a central scheme, and usually one office rather than a portal.

  1. 1

Become a member of a dairy cooperative society

If you are not a member yet, ask the society secretary or the nearest dairy federation office how to join.

  2. 2

Give your Aadhaar and bank details

Make sure the society has your correct bank account, so the state’s transfer does not get stuck.

  3. 3

Sell your milk through the society regularly

Keep the milk slips. The subsidy is worked out on the litres recorded.

  4. 4

    Check the transfer

When the state releases a lot, the ₹5 a litre reaches your bank account. If it does not, ask the society secretary first.

If something goes wrong

Missing from the list, or payment stuck — here is the channel the department itself publishes for it.

  • If your payment is missing or wrong, ask your dairy society secretary first, then the Animal Husbandry Department office in your district. Carry your milk slips and bank details.
  • Beyond the department, use Rajasthan Sampark — dial 181 (free, 24×7) or file at sampark.rajasthan.gov.in. Keep the Grievance ID to track or reopen the complaint.

Frequently asked questions

How much do I get?

₹5 for every litre of milk sold through the cooperative dairy network, on top of the price the dairy pays for the milk.

Is the scheme still running?

Yes. The Rajasthan Budget 2026-27 press note lists it by name with a ₹700 crore subsidy for about 5 lakh livestock farmers.

Do I need to fill in a separate form?

We could not find a published application form. The subsidy is worked out from the milk records of the cooperative network. Ask your society whether your details are already recorded.

Does milk sold to a private dairy count?

No. The scheme is for milk sold through the state’s cooperative dairy network.

Why is my payment late?

The state releases the money in lots after checking records, so there can be a gap. In October 2024, for example, the state released ₹92.41 crore at once. Ask your society when the last lot was released.

Is this the same as the Gopal Credit Card?

No. The Gopal Credit Card gives an interest-free loan. This scheme gives a ₹5 per litre payment on milk you sell. You can be in both.
